Wyld Budz Band is a talented bunch of middle schoolers from the Central Ky. area that got together and started doing their thing.
Wyld Budz was orginally Tony Warner's idea. The Wild Roses Band had a practice and our drummer, Wayne Westerfield, brought one of his students (Dean)to our practice. We let him practice with the band. We played a few tunes and Tony said," Hey you should talk to Becci's daughters and get a kid band going." Then Wayne, Jim, Gary, Andrea, and Allison said, "YEP that's a great idea." I talked with Joanah's bass teacher, Jack Covall. He gave me some names of kid guitar players, and we soon had our first practice. It was really awesome how it came together so quickly and how good they became so quicky. I told the kids they could name the band whatever they wanted, and I was cool with it. Dean wanted to name them the Wyld Budz because of the Wild Roses influence.
This summer the kids practiced about 3 times a week in the a.m. and had time for their summer activies as well. They worked really hard and learned about 18 songs. We have played at churches, 4th of July parties, the Main Street Concert Series, and Festivals. We hope to get more bookings in 09. My favorite part is watching the kids using their talents for God and growing musically as they have a whole lot of fun doing it!
Rock on Budz !!
